Cannon wins again in Billy Kimmel Memorial

Eighth starter Logan Schuchart of Hanover rocketed to the front when the green flag fell in the 20-lap feature for the 358 sprints, already up to second behind leader Eric Tomecek on just the second circuit.

Schuchart drove by Tomecek on a lap three restart and immediately began running away from the field.

Point leader Pat Cannon, who started 12th, worked himself up to second at the halfway point but was having little luck running down Schuchart’s sizable advantage when the caution flag unfurled with just four laps to go.

The return to action saw Schuchart bobble while running the high groove in the second corner with a pair of laps to go and that was all it took for Cannon to pounce and drive to the win.

Schuchart earned second followed by Tomecek, TJ Stutts and Glenndon Forsythe. Cory Haas, Blane Heimbach, Scott Geesey, Matt Boland and Adrian Shaffer completed the top 10.

Twin qualifiers went to Tomecek and Stutts.
