The 2010 358 racing season is about to begin next week at Lincoln Speedway, and the 358 division has a lot of reasons to race this year. Now they will have 2 more. This season we will be having a Most Improved Driver award as well as a Rookie of The Year award as well.
The Most Improved Award will awarded to the driver who makes the biggest jump in points from last season compared to this season. This will be for the Central PA 358 Point Series points. The driver who wins this award will receive $1,000 as well as a trophy naming him the 2010 Most Improved Driver in the 358 division. There will be no voting as it is at race tracks. The driver who makes the biggest gain from last year will win the award. If there would happen to be a tie between 2 drivers for the biggest improvement, then total wins would be the 1st tie breaker.
The Rookie of the Year award will go to any driver who is a rookie in the class in 2010. The winner of the 2010 Central PA 358 Point Series Rookie of the Year award will receive $500 and a trophy declaring you the rookie of the year. If you happened to race 1 or 2 races at the end of 2009 season you will still be eligible to for the award in 2010. Any team that is running for Rookie of the Year please contact me at boogermac420@inbox.com and let me know, that way there will be no confusion.
This is on top of the $27,000 point fund that Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic has given the series as well as the 2nd annual Most Popular Driver Award. This will give the teams plenty of reasons to run hard in 2010.
Good luck to all the 358 sprint car teams in 2010.
