LITTLE CLAIMS FIRST CAREER WIN IN TRAIL-WAY 358’S

Hanover, PA (04/29/11) –With just 13 races between the two of them, Hanover ’s Trevor Little and Westminster , Maryland ’s J.B. Cunningham, Jr. had a lot of pressure on them starting on the front row of Friday’s 25-lap “358” sprint car feature at Trail-Way Speedway. And the pressure built when the big fish pulled onto their back bumpers on the final caution of the race with 10 laps to go.
But both were up to the challenge, with 18-year-old Little holding off J.B Cunningham over the entire 25 laps to score his first career win. “I wanted to run this bottom but I couldn’t stay there,” said Little after climbing from his Little’s Cycle #20 in victory lane, “I saw J.B. coming on the inside a couple of times, and a couple of times I got too high, but the cushion brought me back.”
Little, a former go-cart driver who was racing for only the tenth time, started on the pole and led every lap. Cunningham, out of the Trail-Way micro-sprint division racing only his third race, was scored second every lap, despite heavy pressure from Billy Dietrich, 12th-staring Tim Wagaman, and 10th-starting Cris Eash over the last ten laps.
Sixth through tenth were Keith Prutzman, Dale Hammaker, Joe Trone, Jr., Mike Duncan, Jr., and Arron Spahr, who came from the back after being involved in a three-car crash that took out Jeff Rohrbaugh and opening night winner Steve Owings on turn two of the original start.
Heat winners for the 16 “358” sprinters on hand were won by Prutzman and Little.

2010 Champions Re-Visit Victory Lane
SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Pat Cannon of Etters finally broke his streak of bad luck and scored a convincing victory in Saturday night’s 25-lap 358 sprint car feature at Selinsgrove Speedway. For the defending champion, the victory marked the 28th of Cannon’s career at the track at the wheel of the Highlands Tire Service No. 3.Selinsgrove Speedway will present the Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center spring championship for late models plus 358 sprint cars, pro stocks, and roadrunners at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7. The 30-lap late model race will pay $2,000 to win with time trials as part of the qualifying format.
In the sprint car feature, polesitter Pat Cannon drove into the lead as eighth-place starter Phil Walter stormed into second on the first lap. In the early laps of the race, Walter and sixth-place starter Cody Keller dueled for the runner up position as fourth-place starter Matt Horst and 10th-place starter TJ Stutts raced in the top five.
The caution flag unfurled on lap two when seventh-place starter Nate Snyder, 14th-place starter Billy McNeal, and 15th-place starter Brian Garland tangled in turn four. When the race resumed, Cannon opened up a lead over Walter.
On the 11th lap, the race was stopped after Walter flipped violently through turns one and two. The McClure driver escaped injury. For the lap 12 restart, Stutts was now racing second, only to collide with a lapped car driven by Scott Wilson, sending both cars into a hard series of flips. Both Stutts and Wilson walked away from the crash uninjured.
During the second half of the race, Cannon continued to streak away from the field as Keller, Horst, 12th-place starter Blane Heimbach, and ninth-place starter Larry Kelleher raced in the top five. At checkered flag, Cannon was victorious by 7.2 seconds over Heimbach, who passed Keller for second on the final lap. Keller finished third, followed by Horst and Kelleher. The third place finish for Keller was his career best finish in the 358 ranks.

Adrian Shaffer & Joey Allen "358" Sprint winners at Lincoln Speedway

Hallam’s Adrian Shaffer was the winner of a wild "358" sprint car make-up feature from last Saturday night after surviving contact with challenger Isaac Sneeringer in the final turns.
Rookie Sneeringer grabbed the lead from the pole and led the first 18 laps before Shaffer wrestled the to spot in heavy lapped traffic on the next-to-last lap. Sneeringer made one final bid to reclaim the lead in the final turns, but tapped the inside of Shaffer and spun, collecting Brook Weibley Steve Owings, and a few others in the process.
Fifth-starting Jeff Rohrbaugh drove back around 11th-starting Logan Schuchart on the final turn to claim second, with Schuchart third. Billy Dietrich, who started 12th, finished fourth, with 10th-starting Dale Hammaker fifth. Sixth through tenth were hard charger Niki Young (started 19th), Tim Wagaman, Billy Pauch, Jr., Chad Trout, and Tim Berkheimer.
In only his second week out after a dozen years away, Hanover’s Joey Allen dominated the regularly-scheduled "358" sprint car feature. Allen, whose Jeff Spalding race team hauled the car to the track on an open trailer pulled by a Suburban, started on the pole and led every lap.
Matt Boland started fourth and finished second, with Kyle Moody, Jeff Rohrbaugh, and Billy Dietrich crossing third through fifth. Sixth through tenth were Brook Weibley, Jay Galloway, Logan Schuchart, Adrian Shaffer, and Kevin Nagy.
Heats for the 36 "358" Sprints were won by Dietrich, Dale Hammaker, Allen, and Scott Fisher, with Pauch winning the consolation.
