Brandon Little Memorial/Fallen Firefighters Night

The race will be held Saturday August 18 at Lincoln Speedway. The day will start with a picinic in the new overflow parking lot. We will have our own seperate section that will be roped off by Lincoln personel. We have verbal confirmation from a few drivers that they would be willing to display there cars for the alloted time for the picinc (1-4). If drivers are willing to show their car, it would be appreciated. We are in the process of finalizing donations for food and drinks for the picinc. During the picinic there will be raffle type tickets being sold for different baskets containing various gift cards from local business'. Tickets will also be sold for a chance to win a drivers helmet containing signitures of drivers that are in attendance the night of the race. These tickets will be sold during the picinic and possibly inside the gates for a limited amount of time. We are still accepting gift cards and food/drink donations if anyone is willing to due so.

A moment of silence will be held before the national anthem during wich, Wayne Harper will read a small note explaining who Brandon was, and the purpose of the race. During intermission we are still trying to get at least one piece of fire department equiptment to parade around the track. However it is EMMR night and they usually do there own parade during intermission.

Time trials will be held for the 410's (a way of attracting more drivers). We are still trying to aquire money to add a Fast Time bonus and Hard Charger bonus. The 410 feature will be a 33 Lap/$5000 to win event. An extra $33 will be given to positions 2-24, amount may increase if funds are available. We are still finalizing lap money to be paid to the leader of each lap. As of right now the amounts are between $20-$50/lap with the last lap paying an extra $100. A trophy will be given in victory lane.

The 358 sprints will run their usual 20 Lap feature, however the purse has also been increased for their feature. The winner will recive $1333. Again we are still trying to gather monetary donations for an extra payout throught the feature feild. A trophy will be given to the winner in victory lane.

Advanced tickets are available. Tickets are for general admission and are the normal $14. By buying advanced tickets, $4 from each ticket will go towards the Station #33 Recruitment/Cadet Program in Memory of Brandon Little. Tickets purchased at the gate will not benefit this cause.

Half of the 50/50 proceeds and any proceeds from the raffle tickets  will go to the Recruitment Program. Throughout the evening, various members of Station #33 will be positioned throughout the grandstands/infield and will be accepting donations. Donations will go to the National Fallen Firefighters Organization located in Emmitsburg, MD.

For any questions reguarding race day, contact Lincoln Speedway (717-624-2755) or (717-624-3975). Calls may be directed to the speedway for advanced ticket information. They will direct you to the Little family or other organizers of the event.

STEVE OWINGS MAKES LATE-RACE PASS TO CLAIM THIRD WIN OF THE YEAR IN TRAIL-WAY 358 SPRINTS

HANOVER, PA , 6/22/12 – Westminter, Maryland’s Steve Owings used a lapped car to his advantage to drive under polesitter and race-long leader Trevor Little and take the race lead entering turn one, and drove away to his third win of the year in the 25-lap “358” sprint car feature at Trail-Way Speedway Friday night.
Owings started seventh at was already in turn by the end of lap three.  He caught Keith Prutzman for second on lap seven and then chased down Little following a 11th-lap restart for Austin Hogue, who came to a stop with a flat tire.

“We looked down and the motor was buried,” continued Owings, “I decided to run it ‘til it blew up.  Trevor was running good, and I figured my only chance was to wait until lapped traffic.  Fortunately, we got it.”
